All members, whether paying as individuals or through their chambers, enjoy the full benefits of what the Association offers.

LCLCBA talks and seminars are generally free to members and pupils in their sets and are usually followed by a drinks reception so that those attending can meet and also discuss questions with our speakers.

The LCLCBA applies for Continuing Professional Development accreditation from the Bar Standards Board for all its talks and seminars, which usually provide between 1 and 2 accredited CPD hours to those who attend and sign in. This provides a varied means of achieving accredited CPD without charge.

Details of forthcoming seminars, including the number of accredited CPD points, which members will be awarded for attendance, will be circulated to members in advance and will also be available on this website. Videos of and papers from past events, where provided, and other resources, are accessible on this site but only to members.

Members with suitable experience can be placed on the panel of Arbitrators who participate in the LCLCBA Arbitration Scheme.

All members are eligible for our confidential professional complaints support scheme; those under 7 years’ practice can apply for International Professional Development grants.

Further details of the schemes are at the Schemes tab.

Membership is open to any member of the Bar whose practice is predominantly civil law and who practises wholly or mainly in the High Court, including the Commercial Court, the County Court and tribunals in and around London.

To become an individually-paying member of the LCLCBA please complete the following application form and bankers order and send them to us at the address on the application form. The cost is currently  £15 p.a. and is payable by Standing Order.
